Southwest Job Network (SJN) is pleased to announce an upcoming West Valley event, “Develop the Professional Presence That Sells Your Credentials.”   You are invited to join us on Monday, December 14, 2009 for an evening workshop presented by Gloria Petersen from Global Protocol.

SJN greatly appreciates that this event is made possible through the support of and partnership with Glendale Community College.

Event Description and Details
Part of being successful in conveying your professional brand is having an effective professional presence that sells your credentials.  Do you have the people skills and overall professionalism that are essential to succeeding in today’s tight market with complex needs? Employers want more than class ranking, GPA, skills and experience. You are selling your integrity, social skills, and professionalism. This all starts with your personal presentation.

Your résumé makes your initial introduction; however, you need to sell your social skills with your credentials. When your approach, posture, and eye contact inspire trust, you are perceived as more confident and self-assured. Your ultimate goal is to establish rapport right from the onset by distinguishing yourself from the masses ― through your professionalism, reliability, and attire. These attributes will give you the added advantage.

This workshop will guide you through the building blocks of achieving professional and personal presence and provide you with the opportunity to apply these principles to a mix and mingle exercise.

After this workshop, participants will be able to:
•Meet Expectations Utilizing the Three Elements of Visual Perception
•Approach a Recruiter with the Look of Confidence
•Maintain a Charisma Connection
•Deliver a Professional Self-introduction
•Handle and Pronounce Challenging Names
•Respond to a Greeting with the Correct Handshake
•Engage in Small Talk with Ease
•Exchange Name Cards (or Business Cards) Based on Protocol
•Cement the Relationship with an Impressive Exit

Gloria Petersen, Speaker and Trainer, Global Protocol, Inc., has been delivering personal presentation workshops for over 20 years. Through her energetic style and engaging personality, she empowers her participants with valuable career-changing strategies that enable them to grow in confidence and improve their overall personal presentation.
